Fifteen years ago, this land belonged to Mr. Ma A Chau, the spiritual leader of the local community. In the early days, he was cautious about placing his trust in outsiders. Over time, as he observed the founders living and working closely with the villagers, he came to recognize their sincerity. Before his passing, Mr. Chau entrusted the land to the project, placing his confidence in its future. To honor his legacy, the name Sapa Jade Hill was chosen. The word Jade, meaning precious stone, also reflects his name, preserving his memory as an enduring part of the resort’s heritage.

As a tribute to the land’s heritage and the centuries-old samu pine forest, Sapa Jade Hill Resort & Spa was built using local timber and crafted by the skilled hands of highland artisans. The bungalows rest gently on the mountainside, wrapped in the warmth of traditional indigo and brocade textiles.
