Sapa Jade Hill Resort & Spa is a boutique mountain resort nestled among ancient Samu pine trees, just 2 kilometers from downtown Sapa. Though close to everything, the resort opens up to a tranquil and distinctive world of its own, rich in cultural identity.
Perched gracefully on the southern slope of Ham Rong Mountain at an ideal elevation, its charming bungalows rest gently along the stone-covered hillside, overlooking Muong Hoa Valley – ranked among the world’s ten most beautiful terraced fields. The resort unfolds like a contemporary mountain village, where nature and people come together to tell the authentic story of Sapa.

Drawing inspiration from native materials such as wood, stone, handwoven brocade, and naturally dyed hemp fabrics, the resort is brought to life as a vibrant highland hamlet. Wild grass gently takes over the palm-thatched roofs as seasons change, stone fences are carefully laid by H’mong hands, and embroidered hemp panels carry the quiet care of local artisans. Every detail is handmade with love and respect for the land.
Sapa Jade Hill Resort & Spa offers a slow-living journey through an untouched Sapa, where morning sunlight filters through the palm roofs, dinners carry the scent of the mountains, and local delicacies, herbal rice wine, and traditional Red Dao healing rituals all blend into the quiet rhythm of village life. A serene place of retreat, gently held by mountains and clouds.
ARCHITECTURE – WHERE INDIGENOUS SPIRIT LIVES IN EVERY PALM-THATCHED ROOFTOP
Sapa Jade Hill resembles a contemporary highland village, where every roof, stone fence and construction material carries the soul of the mountains.
Its most iconic architectural feature is the system of palm-thatched bungalows, built entirely from natural materials using traditional craftsmanship by the Tay and H’mong people, long-time residents of the Northwest highlands.
The bungalows are made from the timber of wild palm trees, native to midland provinces such as Yen Bai and Phu Tho. These trees grow up to 10–20 meters tall and are harvested, transported by buffalo, and slowly boiled in oil for 6 to 12 hours, a vital step to reduce moisture and ensure durability against Sapa’s year-round damp, chilly climate.
The wooden frame is assembled using traditional joinery techniques. Ceilings, walls, and floors are paneled with unpolished pine wood, subtly scented with the forest’s natural fragrance.

Each roof is meticulously layered with 5,000 to 7,000 palm leaves, stacked 40 to 60 centimeters thick, offering impressive insulation and weather protection. All 66 roofs are built and periodically restored by Tay artisans who have inherited and preserved the ancient technique of palm-thatch roofing. The most challenging step is capping the roof’s peak, which requires carefully selected mature leaves that have been treated to ensure both durability and aesthetic harmony.
These roofs can last from 15 to over 30 years depending on care. Over time, wild grass naturally sprouts across the surface, creating living rooftops that evoke nostalgic memories of childhood for the local artisans who grew up beneath them.
Each bungalow is designed to follow the natural contours of the land, anchored into the rocky hillside and facing the panoramic Muong Hoa Valley. This fusion of indigenous architecture, natural materials, and majestic scenery creates a retreat experience that is uniquely Sapa Jade Hill.
REFINED IN EVERY DETAIL
In each bungalow, brocade is not merely a decorative element. It is a subtle expression of a living culture.
From blankets and pillows to carpets, table runners, and wall hangings, every piece is hand-embroidered by H’Mong and Red Dao women who have spent their lives amidst misty mountains and stone valleys.

Each pattern tells a quiet story, a thread of memory patiently woven. Unlike mass-produced market items, the brocade at Sapa Jade Hill requires far more time and care. The fabric is dyed with hand-extracted indigo. Patterns are chosen and completed by the artisans themselves, taking seven to ten days to finish even the smallest detail.
Yet in that detail lies emotion and authenticity. Sapa Jade Hill Resort & Spa is a place where you can touch the original beauty of Sapa. It is present in every courtyard stone, every palm leaf, every brocade thread. Each detail carries a spirit of slow, deep, and sincere living, so that every guest leaves with an unforgettable memory of this land.
